Painted Monasteries

Romania has many beautiful places to visit and one of them is the Painted Monasteries of Bucovina. That are located in the northeastern Romania. Their painted exterior walls are decorated with elaborated 15th and 16th century frescoes that feature portraits of prophets and saints, images of angles and demons, heaven and hell and also scenes from Jesus's life.

One of the most known practice you'll witness at a painted monasteris is, a nun or a mon beating a long beam with a mallet. That has the purpose to out a call to prayer.

Weather you are interested on art, history, religion or arhitecture, we are sure you'll be intrigued by the decor and construction - interior and exterior  of these edificies.

The last important thing to mention is the fact that these churches -  Moldovita, Sucevita and Voronet that you'll visit, are part of the UNESCO's World Heritage list from 1993.

During this trip you'll have the chance to taste some of the most amazing traditional dishes that are known for this part of Romania.
